Ah! That seems to have done it. Using the path relative to the folder being synced.

In this case actually But those folders are no longer being scanned.

Yes, you can. First, back up your current phone, go to Extras, Create Backup. It will give you the option of what you want to back up. Then add the new phone and restore back up. You will have options of what you want to restore.
