So, for the past couple of versions of MPE, I've had a recurring problem with MPE. It happens across multiple computers (Running Windows 7, 8, and 8.1) all accessing the same (Galaxy S5) phone.

Just text messages & calls, I don't use it for the fancy stuff. I'm one of the few who's just using it as a way to control/interact with the phone through the PC.

I already do this, keeping MPE loaded on 2 machines (home & work) and it seems to work just fine. I've seen no indication that I'm losing anything.

If you can log into the Google Play Store on a pc with the google account attached to that phone, you can tell the Play Store to install apps from the web interface.

This is true of many apps, not just MPE.

Time for an "Anti-complaint".

I'm not sure when it happened, but I've now got access to add/delete/etc files on the SD card again!

With the first file, the phone flashed up a message, something about selecting the root directory of the SD card, but once I did that, it just works!

She doesn't appear to be talking about the "notes" field saved in the Contacts list, but one associated with incoming calls in the call log. A place for short-term notes like "this number called to order 10 of widget A", or "that number called to talk ...

Unfortunately, the only person "from FJ Software" who's been answering recently is Kohlner, and it's rare that a solution is offered.

Adware: Not sure, I just disable my network connection while installing...this prevents the adware being installed.

Debugging Mode: I did not have to enable USB Debug mode when I last installed.

Like you, I've loved using this software (and will continue to do so as long as it works on/with my phone and/or computer).

I'm able to send text through MPE just fine even when MPE isn't the default.
The only thing I can't do when MPE isn't default is delete messages.

Here's hoping all is well with you, FJ. Haven't seen you around in a few months.

Keep up the awesome work with MPE, there are many of us who really appreciate it!

I'm seeing the same thing intermittently

as the subject says, using "WIFI" or "AutoDetect" settings result in failed connection on this machine.

If I put the phone's IP address in to the "Fixed IP-Address" setting, it connects just fine.

Recently, I find that (most) sent messages that I send through MPE (on my home-machine only) are not being saved in MPE...and sometimes not in my phone either.

Refreshing doesn't seem to help, those messages seem to just be gone. I know (many of them) are going through because I get responses ...

And as far as I can see, there's no way to set a "locked" or "protected" switch from within MPE, so no way to test that.

Test:

Message locked in MESSAGING.
Attempt to delete with HANDCENT.
Get a popup with a checkbox "Delete locked message?"
Leave unchecked.
Message is not deleted.

Reverse process (lock with HANDCENT, attempt delete with MESSAGING), same result.

Is there a way to have MPE respect the "locked" status of a message, if it's been locked on the phone?

Currently if a message is "locked", deleting a conversation using on-the-phone Messaging that includes that locked message results in that message remaining.

But doing the same thing from MPE ...

I think what he means is...and it may be Android doing it, but we're all looking for a solution...

For the longest time, A split up messages...then for a while, messages would go through in one piece no matter their length (within reason)...now they're back to splitting up again.
