Until I found this section I installed Myphoneexplorer directly via WINE. Installation works fine and MPE started correct. Problems appeared when I tried to connect my phone. MPE wants me to name then new ...

Now I'm very happy and there is one more reason to use linux.
I'd be interested to know if you get any problems with MyPhoneExplorer and Wine. Mine is somewhat unstable, and sometimes crashes when I quit. It's perfectly usable, just prone to crashing at times.

I'm on Ubuntu 12.04, 64bit, Wine 1.5 ...

I've installed MPE (ubuntu 12.04; Dell D630) and it seems to
work, but connecting my HTC Desire failed. If I connect the phone at usb port with "Nur laden" (or any other option) there is no /dev/ttyacm* , so the link to com1 goes to nirvana ;-)
The system can identify the phone, lsusb --> "Bus 002 ...

Endlich kann ich meinen Thunderbird mal mit dem Telephon synchronisieren und somit auch endlich mal meinen Linux TB zügig auf den neuesten Stand bringen.
