maybe the duplicate entry deletor did not completely delete the entries and they are still somehwere you cannot see? Try restoring the phone to original factory state and see?

if MPE crashes on the phone during a sync, the sync should resume where it crashed or 1-2 entries before that. This will save alot of time for big data files!

i have the same problem! im using a custom rom with ICS. MPE used to work without problems earlier but after the update my contacts have not been able to sync.
