Thanks FJ. Using MICROSOFT as the SMS client fixed the problem. However, I am running Android version 4.2.2, not Kit Kat. Also, when the SMS client is set to mpe notifications don't work on the phone.

SMS over 160 characters splits
This is strange. Suddenly when I send an sms text through MyExplorer with more that 160 characters, the system splits the text. For example, a 200 character text is sent as 2 separate texts. 500 characters into 3 texts. This has only recently started to happen. I've sent long texts before and the ...
