As a temporary fix, version 1.8.8 works fine with the Windows update (1809) you can download from Filehippo.

Is it possible to set MyPhoneExplorer to send long SMS as one message, my phone is set to do so but if I send a long message via MPE it splits the message into standard 160 character messages?
