Are you sure you have only one instance of MPE running? => See Task Manager.
If more than one, stop all but one and the issue should be resolved.

I've been using the app fpr many years now, expressed my gratitute in some donations, as I love the app: it's unique!
But now and then the connection fails. After restarts etc. sometimes it starts working again for some time untill it is disabled again: 'Phone could not be identified'
I prefer wifi ...

No connection with phone on MyPhoneExplorer?

If all settings are correct, just remove the app and install the latest version: that should do the trick.
Don't forget to start with a download (Arrow downwards in bar) to start from the present clean situation again.
