I have this same problem. PC Suite is installed but I get the message ' connection to phone could not be established. Phonne could not be identified.

I have just gone back to using MPE after a few months since my last backup and although the phone is recognised fine when I go to try to view the archive of my messages it doesn't find any. The database file is still there and is the size it was when I left it so how comes MPE doesn't load those ...

I copied them all over but it hasn't crashed. If it happens again I'll let you know and do as you request.

Is it possible to have no time set for the sent messages rather than having it show as the current time. I see some people have their's showing as 'No Indication' instead.

What order do the messages actually get archived in?

OK well I managed to resolve it. I removed the folder in appdata, restarted the program and it started it again from afresh. Just copied over my sms data files and all is ok again now

MPE has been working fine since I installed it earlier this week but today whenever I try to connect it to my phone I get a message saying it is not responding and it then closes. My phone is the Satio. Anything I can try to resolve this?

Aino, C905 and W995 -> these are currently the best phones with good compatibility to MPE.
Satio and Vivaz are not recommened, they make too much problems with MPE
Xperia - not supported cause its based on Windows Mobile
X10 - i don't know if i can adapt MPE to this phones
