If it helps, what I noticed is that when I change to "date" or "time" field, it somewhat takes me to the "part of the field" that I last edited.

When I manually set up the date in the sent messages, the navigation could be better.

Assume I have: 2010.10.21 08:43

To set the date on an old text message, i would click on the month. It is selected.

Then i type:

05 (month) . (period) 05 (day) TAB

At this point, 43 (minutes) is ...

@Don: Its a interesting idea - the question is if a year-split would fix the problem. There are enought users which write a hugh amount of messages also in less than one year. The second problem is that MPE is still not able to read out the date of sent messages. For the duplicate-check it would be ...
