Hello,
just a quick question - In my Outlook 2010 calendar I sort my appointments into several categories. Are these categories synced with Android? Is there any Android calendar app, which works with categories? I use iCalendar and it doesn't seem to support categories.
Thank you very much for any info |

As far as I know there are some calendar apps that support categories but usually store them inside a proprietory database which can't be synced without further third party software e.g. companionlink
Pocket informant (at least in verison 2, don't know for the new version) on the other hand uses a seperate "non-google controlled", but still android compatible calendar database.
Never tried syncing with MPE though, so I can't give you further details on if and how it works. But would be worth looking into it.
Perhaps someone else has experience in that matter.
Cheers.

Thank you
I use MPE for many years now and would like to stick to it. So if there's no way to sync Outlook meeting categories with MPE to native Android calender, I'd rather go without categories |

Hi, I'm trying to also sync between Outlook 2010 and my Android (LG L2). I'm new to MPE though and am trying to get the initial set up to work with categories. Categories work fine with Contacts using Groups works fine. I just don't know if what I'm trying to do is possible.
I've used several different calendars on my Android that show various categories, but I can't figure out how to get more than one category at a time to sync. On the MPE Settings for the Events (Settings/Sync/Calendars to Sync) I can select all my different categories as different calendars in Outlook, but then it forces me to select only one category (all the categories are listed) as where MPE places all the event sync'd into the MPE event calendar. So, I guess I could go in to this setting one category at a time and sync just that category calendar to the selected MPE New Event category, but that's a lot of hassle each time I want to sync. Is there an easier way? I've wondered that maybe I could set up different users for each category, but then will Multi-sync work across multiple users? Am I missing something? |

The standard calendar database of Android (which is used from MPE and also the most calendar apps) does NOT support categories at all. But since Android 4.1 its possible to set a color for every appointment so MPE does sync the category color to the phone. |
