Old appointments are submitted for editing

Hello.
I have read a lot of posts dealing with related issues but I didn't find a end answer to it.
So I post my issue.

Here is what I observed for the first synchronizations:
When I synch appointments, MPE submits for editing old entries that were not submitted at the previous synch and that I didn't edit at all neither in the phone nor in the two computers with which I do synchronizations.
These entries are several years old.
The next sync it submits other old entries and apparently some of the previous ones.
Looking at the comparative descriptions displayed by MPE I was unable to detect any difference between phone and Outlook.
However, some of the items were differing by lack of accentuated letters but the accentuated letters were both present in the phone and in the computer and also correctly displayed by MPE in the week screen.

Most of them were items with recurrence pattern.

As far as I do remember well (I worked so hard on this issue that I became confused) I never accepted the option "Never sync this entry in future" ignoring what this option could do exactly in my data.

I did at least one "Download entire" and the behavior seemed greatly improved after; but as it is recent I don't know if it will be sustainable.

Currently:
One item with recurrence pattern is submitted repeatedly although I accept edition with the option "Use entry from Outlook".

What is the explanation, please ?

MyPhoneExplorer does compare all fields of all appointments on every sync. There must be a change on one side (or MyPhoneExplorer was not able to save the changes on the other side correctly). To get more details about the issue - so i can compare why MyPhoneExplorer wants to sync the event - please run MyPhoneExplorer in Debug mode (Start-Run-myphoneexplorer debug-OK). If you sync now then you will see a new button in the sync confimation window: "Compare". Click on this button for several items and send me the screenshot of the window which appears.

By the way: I was not able to answer your email cause your mail server is wrong configured, i got the message: "domain has no valid mail exchangers"

I try to avoid Kies and am using MPexplorer now.

It works great!

Exept for about 20 appointments.
It keeps wanting to sync them though they are not changed.

I have a few examples but I can't find a way to upload screendumps here.
Can anyone help?

I don't know yet to deal with that issue and I do not get substantial help.

To add to this discussion:
I am also seeing this.
It looks like it happens ONLY when I attempt to perform synchronization (multi-sync, usually from the Win7 desktop gadget) shortly (i.e. a few minutes) after the previous one. And then, as described above, appointments that were certainly not touched in the meantime show up in the list.

You are right about the older appointments.
I noticed that some of the recurring ones have (also older) exceptions which causes the urge to sync again.

I also notice that appointments with added text keep wanting to sync.

Maybe FJ will pick this up sometime.

FJ worked hard on that issue and he recently gave me a track to bypass this problem.
I am testing it today. and I need to do more tests before to conclude.

And, of course, you are meaning that the text was added previously on an appointment already synchronized, are you not ?

NB: By appointment with "recurrence pattern" I mean appointment that is scheduled to occur repeatedly on a defined period. For instance: every Thursday from 2 pm to 4 pm, from 1rst January to 31th June.

I started MPE in debug mode as suggested. I can see entries in Outlook (old version, XP/2002) and when I run calendar sync with compare, I can look and see an entry in outlook, but compare when syncing events shows outlook being blank with the data being right in the phone. It wants to create 1200+ entries on a sync, pretty much entirely in Outlook. My system was very low on space, so it seems possible that at some point, MPE might not have been able to write data to Outlook, but I doubt that would have invalidated calendar entries. Any ideas?

All 3 answers are YES
Summary: old, recurring appointments, some with additional text in note-field, keep coming back in sync-process allthough not changed for weeks. Every sync again.

Now that I know it I just accept the proposed actions while syncíng.
My phone is set to overide outlook.

I did a lot of tests and analyses without finding how to resolve the problem.

In my experience, "added text" seems to not change anything, and the appointments constantly proposed for synch, although they have not been modified, have these features:

- old and not changed,
- recurrent patterns,
- differing between phone and Outlook with one date (the last date for the recurring event).
- Most of them but not all are said on the phone to be "One-time event".

If everyone facing this issue could check if his abnormal items have the same features this could be helpful.

¤ I use :
Outlook on a WXP computer and S Planner on a Samsung Galaxy Mega.
¤ Settings :
Compare only changed events
Sync both
Sync all events.
