I was looking for program to control my Android (Samsung Galaxy S6, rooted) directly from my desktop.
I ended up here.
But after installing not everything works.
I can get a perfect mirror image of the phone's screen on my desktop and when i control the phone the image on the desktop changes, so far so good.
But i can't seem to do the reverse, controlling my phone from the desktop.
I think the problem lies in the fact that i can't enable the mouse pointer on the desktop image.
It currently looks like this and there is no way of checking the checkbox. It is also only partitial visual:
I would be happy to donate for this if i get the controlling to work... |

remote controlling the device is only possible if it's connected through USB cable!

That's the point, it's connected through a USB cable... 
ADB drivers installed etc...
I can get it to work with Team Viewer but that's a bit laggy so i'm looking for a better solution. |

As you can see on the Power Toggels bar in the middle of the screen of the first screenshot, wifi is turned off.
On the second screenshot you can see that the MPE notifications shows it's connected through USB.
Still, the top of the screenshots show something different then yours. You have Control Phone as message, i have screen mirroring. Somehow i'm missing something.
I'll have a run at nightly and report back...
Edit: uninstalled MPE 1.8.7, rebooted, re-installed and updated to nightly. Still only screen mirroring.
