entering birthdays with MPE

I´ve trying to enter my contact´s birthdays with MPE but I couldnt do it.
Please help!

Hi comma4,

i would like to help you, but i'm missing some additional details:

1. what's your phone model?
2. which version of MPE do you use?
3. what kind of contact would you edit?

Here some attempts:

First case, SIM-contact:
If you want to edit a contact stored on your SIM-card, there's no way to do that, because the SIM-card doesnt have fields to store this. In this case you will see a mask like this:



Second case, Phone-contact:
If you want to edit a contact stored in the phones memory, you will see the following mask:



Just click on "No Indication" and you'll get additional fields for entering birthday informations:





In first case (birthday for SIM-contact) you should go another way:

- Go to the Organizers calendar and select the day for your contacts birthday.
- At the toolbar in the top select "New appointment...".
- Type in your contacts birthday and name
- Select "birthday" as type of appointment
- Note: It's not possible to type in a birthday/appointment before Jan 1st 1970 because your SE-phone doesnt allow this! In this case type in the correct year in the "Additional" field.





At least, and in any case, dont forget to synchronise.

Hello...Thanks for putting out a great software. I just found this and am still learning it.

In the Second case example above, the contact card shows the last field for "Birthday:". My software looks the same except the birthday field is missing.

Do I have the right version for this 1.3.3? Or is there another step that I am missing.

BTW. I am using W600i and have no problem with any other function so far.

For W600 the birthdays will be supported in the next version - besides does the W600 also support the work-address and 3 mail-addys ?

The W600 supports full work and home address information.
By 3 mail-addys...do you mean 3 Email details? If so, the answer is Yes, 3 Emails for each contact.

Hy comma4. Download Version 1.4.2 of MyPhoneExplorer. Then open the file general.ini - you'll find it in tha appfolder of your useraccount.

Opened in notepad search for following line: "ForceBirthdays=...". At this line add a comma and your phonemodell. Then the birthdaysfield is unlocked for the Z520. Please tell me also if birthdays workd on the Z520, so i can unlock it in future versions.

Nope, W550, W810, W900 already included in "ForceWorkaddress" - that also contains the birthday-flag. By the way: Does the W700 support the WorkAddress Feature ?

If wish to know if there is a way to generate birthday entries in calendar for every imported contact: if I edit a single contact I can click and set the reminder but what if I import a bunch of contacts? It would be useful (or maybe I just was unable to find) an options to generate calendar entries for every contact having a birthday date...

Moreover, maybe it could be useful the set the reminder some days before the birthday date, in order to allow you to buy a present, if you wish.

BTW: I think that the "search" option in forums does not work so well, no entry is found for the "birthday" word.

You can set the alarmdate manually in the organizer.
