Connecting new Samsung Galaxy S8

For years i have happily used "My Phone Explorer" with my Motorola Droid Razor Max. Yesterday I purchased a new Samsung Galaxy S8 and I cannot get my computer MPE program to link to the phone. i have the application installed on both the computer and the phone but the computer program says no USB link is detected. I think possibly I need something called "USB debugging ?" running but cannot find such a thing on the new phone. I can see all the phone files in my Windows Explorer so I know the USB link is working. Any suggestions are welcome and will be considered. Thanks,

Thanks for the link, adi7ch, both the PC and S8 are now talking to each other. The new problem is finding an application on the S8 that MPE can load the MS data into. I'm still drowning in menus and applications. Any suggestions of apps to use on the S8, with data from MS Outlook? Again thanks for responding.

You can always use MS Outlook for Android from the Play Store.
I'm using aCalendar+ and TypeApp for emails.
