MPE PC to android connection intermittent

When I'm using the PC, I need the MPE connection all the time.

Since the latest android build (see personal details) earlier this year, the connection goes up and down at random. When I start MPE on the cell phone and then on the PC and make a connection, with F1, shift-F5, by sending an SMS or anything, the connection may or may not still be there afterwards. 5 minutes or an hour or 5 hours later the connection may or may not have been dropped.
