SMS:s get mixed with each other
SMS:s get mixed with each other
Hi,
I get every now and then a messages mixed with each other in my phone explorer (latest case in 1.6.6). I have no clue why this happens, cause the program has not crashed etc. The latest case is with a message that i sent from MPE, and that got mixed with an other message on MPE (i'm trying to track which message, but til now I could not find it on my phone cause i have about 500 messages stored on it)
Can this be somehow re-fetched from the phone, or is there a tool that i coud use to manually recover these messages?
I'm using the k800i over bluetooh with the CXC1250210 R1JG001 070214 sw version.

Yes, the messagestore is more or less full. I'm going throught one by one all sent messages in my phone and add the sent date manually to myphonexplorer. That is a bit time consuming, and therefore i'm not up 2 date with that project yet...
Is the storade-id the order the messages are stored in the phone? i would love to get that sort-option to mpe, cause that would make it faster when adding those sent-dates to my messages..

I had too this problem. When a friend write me a SMS with his Nokia, all his SMS have the same PartUID, it seems it is not a random value for his phone. If i delete a single message, the new SMS has a part stored in this old ID, and the other part in another free ID. Then on the computer the SMS are mixed...
I have seen that Float Mobile Agent correctly print the SMS, maybe there are other informations in the SMS? if you can't resolve it, can you make an option wich separate long SMS, and let us join manually one to another? or just let them separated, because when we have this bug, it is better to see sms separated with "(...)" and the real sent-time, instead of a lot of SMS mixed wich have different date...

Yes but, for exemple, in the same day i receive two long SMS (then i can't connect my phone to a computer between), if it is not stored in the order i receive it, in MPE the two long SMS are mixed in two other irrelevant SMS and there is no way to order them... and a fonction which let us organise or juste separate long SMS would be useful in this case!!! Because it happened not rarely...

Could it be possible to merge the parts based on more than just Part Id and Storage Id?FJ hat geschrieben:There is no way for a real technical fix and the workaround with manual reordering is not pleased to me...
Perhaps include the time and date - if the Part Id and Storage Id match on several messages the ones with less time between send/receive time is matched together.

Text messages out of sequence
Not sure if this is part of the same issue, but I used MPE for the first time today and copied (and archived) al ot of sent texts. When I printed them off from a Word document I noted that some were out of date sequence and none of the texts in the Word file had time / date showing. A bit odd. Other than that, I think the software is excellent.
I know they have different timestamps but the parts of a long message will normally have timestamps close to each other.FJ hat geschrieben:Datecompare is senseless - the messages hav diffrent timestamps. MyPhoneExplorer joins the messages trought enumerating, so also the StorageID is already included in the algo.
Example:
sms 1:
part 1: 10:20:20
part 2: 10:20:40
sms 2:
part 1: 11:20:20
part 2: 11:20:40
When there is no check for time it is possible that part 1 of sms 1 can be put together with part 2 of sms 2. But it is easy to see on the time that these two parts does not match because the timestamps are close to each other.
I tried now to fix it. MyPhoneExplorer compares now also the timestamp from the ServiceCenter. If the date is more diffrent then one day then MPE will not join the message. Please try the beta and report. Please not that it has no effect to the SMS-archive. If you save a multiple message once in the archive then it will be joined there forever.
