Hmm basicly a good idea, but i think its to unknown for common users - they will enable this option cause it "seems good" and what they get is that they cannot read their calendar in a "normal" webbrowser.

First of all, thank you for building such an amazing application!

So, my wish is that I'd like to be able to configure the keyboard keys that correspond to each button on the Phone Keypad.

The issue is that the keypad layout has the mobile phone layout, which is correct, but the numeric keypads on all keyboards have the calculator layout, which can be confusing when using the keypad for texting.

So basically, I would like to be able to choose which keys on my keyboard correspond to each button on the Phone Keypad. For example, I'd like to have [a],[s],[d],[w] keys for arrows, [y],[u],[i],[h],[j],[k],[n],[m] for the numbers, [z] and [x] for * and #, [q],[e] for left and right softkeys, etc.

I think this should be an option so that users that are already used to the default settings have no trouble.

So hopefully this won't be too much trouble for you

Thanks for a continued effort in developing and supporting this great software.

Could you please consider the following:

1. Be able to edit a single instance of a recurring event e.g I have my shift roster stored in my phone, when I start at a different time for one day, I'd like to be able to change just that one day of the recurring event.

2. Have a minimised startup option so that connection and Sync can happen without it splashing across the screen. I know that you want people to know if the Sync has happend, but if there are any errors to report, still make a sound (Every minute or so if you deem required - Configurable in frequency and actual sound so that users can know that it's MPE calling for their attention?), but flash the icon in the icon tray until the error has been seen. If everything goes without an error, still have the icon flash but then show the Sync results.

3. Have a shortcut or "[]" and "-" boxes similar to the top RH corner of each window for the sidebar to be minimised and maximised (To the size that it is now)

4. For some reason, some events are always brought to my attention in relation to syncing in Outlook. Mostly when I add an event directly into the phone. Is this a quirk in Outlook? Could you have a "Remember this Decision" button, to avoid this recurring question. Possibly an "Always Sync Both" option or a priority setup. e.g. Phone has first priority, MPE 2nd and Outlook 3rd?

5. Option for the basic keypad (Like it is now) or a full keypad with the letters on it as well.

You didn't answered my questions that i posted some months ago..

1) In tray tooltip it shows only the percentage of transfer. would be nice to see there additional info such as a transfer speed, remain time, the file name being transfered. so the user don't need to open the window to see this info.

2) the ability to send from the right click context menu in explorer to any directory (aka music, videos, other, themes etc...). not just the core directory..

3) option to startup in files menu.

But i have one or two suggestions for vista users...

Could it be at all possible to develop the Vista Sidebar Gadget further by adding one or two more functions. I would love it if instead of MyPhoneExplorer displaying popups (for example when connecting or sending a message) the sidebar gadget could display this information instead. For example, beneath where "1 unread message" is displayed it could say connecting and sending message. I think that this would make the Sidebar Gadget much more usefull, and would enable it to run more independantly without having to maximise the main application. Also, instead of just displaying the number of unread messages, could it be possible to display the message once clicked on and add a reply button?

Im finding it hard to explain what i mean here but if necessary i can create an image For what i have in mind.

2) You are well informed. I know that there are many requests for this and i also thought about a similar solution you suggested. It would be alot of work, i'll keep it in my mind but you#ll don't find it in the upcoming version

3) The sidebar is a compiled control which was not developed from me. So its hard to make modifications there. but i think i don't understand this request. Please tell me whats the sence of those buttons cause you can already collaps/expand the sidebar panels.

4) Its a known problem with outlook and basicly its relatet cause this two reasons:
- MyPhoneExplorer compares on sync always all items and fields - not only the modified ones.
- If you write data into Outlook then OL does fix them itself. f.e. if a string ends with a space then OL will trim the string. Please try the beta and if the problem exists we will go deeper into it.

5) Its only possible to emulate keys on the phone which does physically exist. I already tried to send f.e. for "b" 2 x button "1" but this works only in theory. In practise its unusable cause MPE cannot detect what the phone has done with the keypresses

@gast: Where is the problem ? Just use Drag&Drop to upload complete folders.

1) The space in this tooltip is limited. its not possible to use linebreaks in the tooltip of the tray. I added the rest-duration for the upcoming release - this must be enought

2) The contextmenu of the Windows-Explorer should be easy-to-use and it should be not spammed full with many items. Ever tried Drag&Drop ?

3) A littlebit problematic cause the filebrowser works only if the phone is already connected, will be not implemented.

I thought alot of the usage and possibilitys of the gadget but i think i will keep it in its current state.
1) There is not much space in the gadget for the features you wish.
2) The connection between MPE and Gadget is a littlebit complicated and ut must be done with diffrent technologys: MyPhoneExplorer ->(throught SendMessage) GadgetConnector ->(throught JavaScript) GadgetOverlay - and the same in the other direction. From this position its hard to add alot of features throught the interface.

2. I try to not duplicate questions.
3. Instead of going into View > Sidebar, have a hot spot next to the sidebar to minimise (Close it) or Maximise it (Like it looks when open) similar to the bottons at the top RH corner of a standard window. But [Alt]-[V], [Alt]-[S] like you have it now works too.. I was just thinking of the mouse junkes (GUI People)
4. What I meant was instead of MPE asking the question each time this happens, can you force it to always sync both copies at the request of the user?
5. Sorry, I didn't explain clearly, I understand that you can't get feedback from the phone to know what is on the screen (Now that would be cool). What I meant was to keep the software interface the same, just make the image on the screen larger so that you can put the ABC on the 2 button, DEF on the 3, etc. Purely a visual change so that the user doesn't have to look at the phone so see where the letter "K", etc is.

Actually, I just came onto this forum to see if anybody had mentioned point 5) on Rassilon's post!

I don't use this for text messaging, but I was hoping to be able to use a full keyboard for entering text on a webpage. I know it sounds crazy, but this would be a useful feature for me! It would also be useful for being able to type out MMS messages too (assuming that I've not missed something in the program that allows you to construct MMS messages via MyPhoneExplorer).

I would like to finish my message by saying thank you for creating such a fantastic program. It's so much better than the SE software and I know how many hours go into these software projects, so I applaud you.

Hey FJ... Thanks for your reply! Yeah i understand there are limits with the vista gadget for some of the things i suggested. However i would hope something similar to this could be achieved.

Point 2 means that i don't want to transfer all stuff to the gadget, cause the connection MPE<>Gadget is tricky. But your screenshot shows me a good idea. maybe i'll implement it already in 1.7 if not then i'll add it in 1.7.1

First of all, i think MPE is great, really love the way it looks simple whilst being more versatile than other programs.

Anyway I think it would come in handy if messages could be automatically be moved to the archive with the Multi-Sync, plus having control over wich messages it moves. Like it is with the calendar where you can sync events "in a given time range".

Thats just my 2 cents, my s700i's messagememory is full at 100 messages and it would be nice to have some space cleared up automatically
