Great, it works!
Even if when editing the entry the second part of the "first name" shifts in the "last name" field, now the sync is handled correctly and these entries are not considered as modified.
Thanks... MPE rules! |

Just discovered a minor glitch. It's not related to the name issue but still connected to the vcf import, so I'm writing in the same thread...
1. import a new entry without birthday date
2. (then you became aware of the birthday date so you update the vcf file)
3. import again in MPE
4. MPE is ignores the new inserted date (it keeps "no indication")
Regards! |

VCF is generated by self-made VBA macro processing an excel sheet. Resulting VCF has regular BDAY field, is the same VCF file I use for the full import of contacts and it works (birthday date included).
The only thing I completely ignore about VCFs is the X-IRMC-LUID which I don't know what is for and so I skip the generation of that row. |

Found and fixed, but i have not uploaded the new beta for this small fix.
Please note: If you set the birthday for a contact its not possible to delete it. The only way is to delete the old contact and make a new one without birthday (thats SonyEricsson )
By the way - i have a new hidden treasure implemented:
Add the following lines to the general.ini (under [Main]):
Organizer_Standardfile=C:\calendar.vcs
Phonebook_Standardfile=C:\contacts.vcf
Now start MPE and look at the toolbars.
I called it "Quick Import", maybe interesting for a geek like you |

That's great... what a timesaver!! My birthday it's just the next month and I consider this as a nice present received in advance! |

Hello FJ, many thanks for that great piece of software.
I see there that, thanks to Sony design, once entered a birthday can't be removed whithout removing the contact. It's true in MyPhoneExplorer and in my K530i too.
I'm very lazzy and I'm wondering if it wouldn't be easy for MyPhoneExplorer to workaround this missing by automating the job. That is duplicate the contact without the birthday and then remove the source of the copy.
In that case would it be possible to remove the birthday of a contact on the phone by editing the MPE copy and resync? |

@xlv600:
Ever tried to press the C-key on your phone in the contacts birthday field?
On my K550 it's possible to remove the birthday with this key.

After some search, I've found it quite easy to locate the MPE file phonebook.dat (MPE is closed), edit it with the Windows Notepad, look for the contact to modifie with Search function, remove the BDAY entry of that contact and save the modification.
Then suppress the contact in the phone.
When I run MPE, I can see that the Birthday date of this contact is properly removed. After resync, the contact whithout birthday appears in the phone as I whished. |
