This was probably asked previously, since it's a really trivial feature. Still, I want to stress it once more: I would love to be able to archive my appointments, so that I can clean up my organizer on the phone and still be able to look up when exactly I went to that beautiful concert again.

It was sometimes requested, but i will not add a special calendararchive. You can Sync myphoneExplorer with some 3-party-apps so you can use them for archiving your data (also possible as plain iCal-File). For syncing you can use a daterange.

If you set a daterange then you have only the events of the daterange in your phone and MyPhoneExplorer. The phones storage ios very limited (300 events + 80 todos)
OK. Maybe you are a business-person so you could have thousands of appointments f.e. in Outlook. Your phone can hold only 300 appointments. So MyphoneExplorer will delte all appointments in the phone which are outside of this daterange and he will add/sync all items which are inside of the daterange. But with a littlebit thinking - its not an optimal filter for your wish as Calendar-Archive.
