It's technically not possible now to read and write MMS via MPE. |

...although you can save the photos from the mms messages (using the phone's internal menu to extract them) and then transfer them across.
Perhaps MPE could implement a script to make these commands, if it does not already. |

I think this script needs to be executed inside the phone. MPE does nothing from phone-side and I don't know if such a script would work. (I think it won't) |

actually ...
As the MMS are saved in E:\System\messaging\db\<imei>\ext\ and then a unique folder "m_0000?????" with a file "main.smil", "smil.txt", the attached gif's, jpg's, mp3 or whatever file you have used in your MMS are in that folder.
Wouldn't FJ be able to write an GUI to actually show that information in a user-friendly way?
Note that I have selected to save my messages to the memory card in my K850i .
I would really love such function.
Being able to compose MMS'es via MyPhoneExplorer doesn't bother me. |

This would only work for the K850i and only if you sleected to save the messages on the MemoryStick. I don't think that it would make sense. |

I guess the phone will use a similar format on the phone memory when not selecting to save to the memory stick ... Wouldn't you be able to use the same files on the system-folder on the phone memory, or is it only accessible in mass storage mode?
And I'm saying K850i, but i think it will be the same on all A200-phones... |

I have no K850i - can you find this folder also in the phone-memory ? |

I thought it would be visible in mass storage mode, as the "System" folder is available then, but the "messaging" folder is unavailable there.
I think the whole thing stops there, alas ...
But the "save to memory card"-trick is still a solution for someone who wants to backup their MMS-messages, you only have to know where to look. |

Hi, I've been receiving messages with obscene/abusive content and WAP links. I'm trying to trace the sender/originator to stop these and report the abuse.
My network provider is useless and says because the sender ID is overwritten in text form they can't identify were the message came from.
Is there a way I can get any identifying information from the message? Perhaps looking at the message data in PDU mode?
To start with, does anyone know where MMS's are stored on the K800i?
Thanks, Mark. |
