MPE and Windows 7 beta
I just wondered if anyone else has successfully had this working yet?
I've tried it and can connect to my phone (C905) fine until I try and sync, then it just shuts down the program automatically
Regards

Helllo!
I have just installed MPE on Windows 7 and so far everything seems good. Managed to load my contacts, messages, send a message and recieve one! So far so good!
The only problem i have come across is the sidebar gadget. It appears the background images do not work on windows 7 (for me anyway)
I know this isnt a major problem but I use the gadget alot!
Anyone know how this may be fixed?

v1.7.0 was never fully compatible with the C905 cause changed blocksize in OBEX-Protocol
@merite: In near future its not planned that i will install the beta of Wondows 7.
If you have a littlebit knowledge in HTML you can try to fix it yourself. It should be not a big thing. The Gadget is located in C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\myphoneexplorer.gadget
Some infos about creating gadgets: http://msdn.microsoft.com/de-at/library ... n-us,VS.85).aspx
If you are able to fix it then it would be good if you could send me the solution.

All your problems and questions would also appear with Windows XP or Windows Vista - they have nothing to do with Windows 7. Maybe it would be better to get familiar with my app on "common" Windows before you report Bugs on Windows 7.
Thanks FJ, As you may or may not remember, I do use your MPE on XP and Vista without any problems, this was just a little experiment. I'm certain within time all issues will be sorted out by yourself.

compatibility with win7
hey
had a short go on the forum and felt the urge to create an account and share my views.
first: frkng great program, love it!
here's my story:
I've got a sony viao vgn-fe21 notebook, about 2 1/2 years old with xp on it. bluetooth integration was via a third party bluetooth solution by toshiba. to call it seamlessly would be sarcasm. anyhow. somewhen later I purchased a SE w880i and installed the bloatware by SE. hated it the moment (30min long moment) I install it. i switched to MPE. it turned out to be the smart choice BUT as i already mentioned the bluetooth experience was awful (not by mistake of the MPE! but tosh and sony). since I am not fond of cables of any sort, especially on a phone with all sorts of wireless tech in it, I dumped the whole idea of phone <-> pc interaction.
about a year ago a friend of mine bought a updated version of my notebook with win vista on it. it took me about 5 sec to dislike it since I found the same toshiba bluetooth stack on that new OS. I didn't even bother to install vista on mine.
well, guess what. I'm posting in the win7 section and i actually want to contribute to the topic.
driven by all the positive reviews it has gotten in the last couple of weeks (ignoring the win vs mac discussion threads) i dared to install the OS.
verdict: super!!!
why? because finally i can use MPE in a way i wanted to use it all along!
(and the installation procedure even found the integrated webcam and all the other proprietary devices) with seamless bluetooth integration without installing the SE software at all. all the drivers are downloaded automatically (yes, really) by the OS when i flick on the bluetooth of my mobile phone.
I tested some of MPE 1.7.1 functionality including fundamentals and synchronisation of thunderbird lightning calender to mobile device.
no problems so far!
the only issue i came by was confirmed in the forum. the gadget is functional but the display is not correct. but this is a common one for win7 gadgets (e.g. webradio gadget) coded for vista.
once again. love the software in conjunction with win7 (esp. on my pc config.)
