MPE as Autoplay option with a SE C902 in Windows XP

Beitrag von majdnem »

C902
I am trying to get MPE to show as an Autoplay option in Windows XP when I connect my SE C902. I have no other problems using my C902 phone with my computer or with MPE.
Before buying the C902 I had a SE K750i. When i connected my K750i, an autoplay options box would appear asking what program i wanted to run. I was able to add MPE to this list.
With my C902, when i attach the phone via USB to the computer running Windows XP a *different* dialog box appears called "Portable device" with the message "Windows can perform the same action each time you connect this device. what do you want windows to do?" Next to this message there is a little mobile phone icon (which looks exactly the same as my C902). The options contained in the list are "Open device to view files", "Sync digital media files to this device using WMP" and "Take no action".
When i go to "My Computer" and right-click on "C902" > properties, i get a window with two tabs: "general" and "autoplay". When i select the "autoplay" tab i see the same options i have listed above, but with no way to add MPE to the list of options. Only WMP and Windows Explorer appear in this list. (And Media Monkey on a different computer) - Why not MPE!?! How can I add MPE!?
I have tried using "AutoPlay Repair" software and i have tried using TweakUI to set this up, but have been unable to do so. One thing i have just noticed is that in tweakUI > My computer > Autoplay, it says "In order for Autoplay to be enabled on a particular drive, it must be enabled as a drive letter as well as by drive type."
When my C902 is attached to the computer, it is not assigned a drive letter, nor are the seperately listed "Phone Memory" and "Memory Stick" assigned drive letters. I haven't been able to make XP assign them drive letters.
Is anyone able to suggest a way around this? Am I the only C902 user to be having this problem? I would *really* like to have MPE available as an autoplay option...
Thanks!

This was originally going to be a posting about assigning drive numbers, but then i thought i'd explain why i was wanting to assign a drive number - apologies for the duplication.

Any suggestions...?
