MPE showing duplicate Java application

Beitrag von carentrica »

I've installed a new Jave application onto my SE W705 from MPE. When I refresh the view (I tried several times), the list shows my application twice, yet there is only one installation on my phone.

Here's a screen shot...

MyPhoneExplorer just shows what the phone responds.

I've just realized what's happening. My application is in fact a suite of 5 separate MIDlets. However, MPE should only show 1 instance as the phone does as they are packaged in one .jar file with 1 .jad descriptor file.

Would there be anything in the MPE log file to show why?

You can post the logfile after the list gets refreshed so we see if the Entrys have the same ID, but i think its a very minor problem

OK, the tool is listed five times and it seems identical. The only thing which is diffrent is the Application-ID - and this value is needed to start the app. So i don't think its clever to cut off identical names. Interesting: The Suite-ID (which is used for deleting) is for all items the same.

That figures, as it not possible to delete individual MIDlets from a suite as they are all listed in the .jar manifest. So by specifying the Suite-ID for deletion ensures all apps are deleted together.

Probably best then to leave things well alone.
