I have a problem to connect my phone (w810i).
I have the following message :
"Impossible to open COM3 port"

I use Windows XP SP2. The connection works well on an other PC.
I have the last version of MPE.
Have you an idea of the issue ?

I forgot to add this point :
When I plug the phone it is recognised by the PC. The phone is charging.
So the drivers are installed.

Moreover, I followed the steps indicated for this problem (restart PC, remove battery, etc) but it doesn't no effect.

For all ports "Access denied". I think another app does open all ports, you have to find and close the process who openes the ports. Maybe you can try this tool to find out which process does raise the problem. Please note - the above tool is very beta and it does work only with Admin-Access. Please give feedback about the results of the tool.

I killed the process "X10nets.exe" and MPE worked well !!

However two ports were available already.

Cool - the tool works - not perfect but it works.
I google something. x10nets.exe is probably a driver for the remote-control of ATI-Radion graphic-chips. Maybe you have to disable this service in msconfig.
