With all the respect but MPE should start working with Nokia. I am really sorry that SE is going down. Too much entertainment and green thinking and less ergonomy.

Years ago Ericsson phones was known as durable phones. Almost military stuff.
Today they become childish. Aino, Satio, Yari... wtf is wrong with them?
This is Sweden, Ericsson is Sweden. For me this is a strong brand. Not a f$#% manga zone.
I don't want to be rude but I used those Ericssons' phones from over 15years ago. My first phone was an Ericsson 318.
Then I had Ericsson 688. What a phone! What a phone!
At that time Nokia was dumb. They had that 3110 phone which I remember that isn't had a time counter during the call. I think they didn't "missed" that feature.
They should keep their line and make reliable phones and URGENT qwerty phones. Touchscreen phones ain't that good as qwerty phones.
NO ANDROID. Own software as K810i to make things simpler.
And for young enthusiasts they could make Android phones, WinMo or Symbian. Is their choice. I don't trust Android, because is supported by Google. From all the systems I trust Symbian.
Big companies as Microsoft or Google force people to accept things that shouldn't be accepted. In lawyer terms, Microsoft is even better than Google. Google offer free products but they want to own everything in their agreements. M$ is offering paid products, and because of this, they had better agreements with the end-user.
But this is other discussion.
At this moment things are simpler. I am a business user. I need MPE, phone, qwerty, email, sms, good standby time. A I said, 3G and a good camera would be welcome. No touchscreen, no wifi, no gps.
These features could be made. A reliable SE phone with these features, even with 3G and good camera, bonus metal AL frame, could cost under €200 on the market.
This would be business and this will have crazy sales.
In this moment SE can't offer this. The single phone that could make these is ASPEN, which is working on Symbian and can't go with MPE.
Is also having WiFi and GPS. Who needs this?
If I have 3G there is no need for WiFi, and I have full coverage. For what in the world should I need WiFi. To stay in the office, or at home, and browsing from the phone? Oh, or maybe in the Mac or at the airport, offering all my precious data traffic to those untrusted networks? And let's be honest, in the airports WiFi is working like s$#%.
WiFi is good for laptops and netbooks. Point!
Only a stupid guy would work on WiFi in home or office from a phone instead of a computer.
Now GPS! I have a dedicated GPS in the car, that is having dedicated processor and dedicated memory. Good reception.
I used GPS from OMNIA and is a shitty GPS. The reception is very slow and there is a BIIIIG problem.
Let's say I'm driving. Someone calls me. Is my mom which wants to talk with my wife. This is already a big FU%$#% problem.
But my wife is getting the phone to talk so I have no GPS on board.
I am already nervous that my mom is talking with my wife and I don't know what is the route because there is no GPS.
I am little bit fu$#% up, ain't I?
I strongly believe that a lot of school make you stupid. This kills all creativity. This is the explanation.
Fancy guys in SE creativity team, surrounded by clean antibacterian IKEA furniture, with good diplomas has no brain. They can't imagine real situations. What is really useful and what's not.
Now SE is going after Samsung and try to throw on the market a lot of phones. To sell more. This is not good because they will try to compete with somebody that knows this tactic.
Better few models, but reliable models with useful features and good software as MPE. And with this strategy are going for the smart market. Smart people market are loyal clients. Stupid not.
There is more to say, but I'm speaking in the wind, cause those fancy guy from SE creativity team are on Facebook or Twitter showing pics with their green socks and begging for friends or followers emotions.
They should put a flower logo and we all start emotion tears.
BLEAH!
P.S.
I can you will make MPE working with Android then will work with any Android terminal?
If yes, that will be hope, because I really believe that are outside serious phones producers.
I totally agree with you - and you are not the first one who is able to "see" this problematic. I saw similar articels also some month ago - direct petitions to SE. With no answer from SE. But - to be honest - we can do nothing. We are not able to reach a important person on SE.
Maybe you are right with Android. i know about Google and their practices, but this is even better then Apple (iPhone).
My way is to ensure that many people are using MyPhoneExplorer. Making Android compatible is the next step - maybe its for young enthusiasts, but there are really alot of them
WiFi and GPS makes sense. maybe not for you but for many other people. Myself i use WiFi AND GPS, not regulary but its very fine if you need it.

Android-Support will be not limited to SonyEricsson. It will work with all brands which using Android. From the first Android phone G1 to the newest ones.
I have been a user of MPE for years and enjoyed it with my K800i I have recently changed to na X10 Mini Pro. I like the phone but miss MPE and its easy toi use interface and link to outlook, also its texting featurs. I have been please to hear that you are working on the android connection and was wondering if you have any timescale for the update for android compatability ? Thanks and keep up the good work. p.s. I recommend MPE to all the people I know that use SE phones.
Finally I'm ready with MyPhoneExplorer 1.7. There are a lot of changes in the background - especially for Symbian-Compatibility. The changes:
full compatibility with UIQ3-Phones (P990i, P1i, M600i, W950i, W960i, G700, G900)
read/write access to notes on the phone
SMS-Chat feature
universal filesync with filter options
it's now possible to add exceptions in ruled events
it's possible to create a backup also if the phone is not connected (Offline backup)
besides this there were a lot of other changes and bugfixes which do not have enough space here

FJ: Hearing that you will be bringing MPE to the Android OS is an absolute gift from God.
I have been using MPE for the last few years while using SE phones, but like we have all noticed; SE has just gone down the drain.
I have just moved to the Android platform a few months ago (with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000) and it's an incredible operating system to use. It still has a fair way to go in terms of polish and app uniformity (the development tools should have a little tighter rules on how they should look, like the iPhone) but other than that, these Android phones are certainly going to continue to bite away at that Apple grip that they currently have on the smartphone Arena.
'Android Manager WiFi' is the closest thing I have found to MPE for the Android platform and unfortuantely; it's pretty terrible.
I am so pleased that you are moving developement towards Android - they have a huge userbase and I believe MPE could in time become the iTunes (so to speak! - without the incredible bloat!) for the Android user!
'Android Manager' from MobileAction is a interesting project. But a small benchmark: Downloading the phonebook from my X10 (80 contacts) needed 30 seconds. With MPE it will need 1,5 seconds

I was using this Awesome software for about three years ago, when i switched to nokia (me being a "know it better")
But now i am switching to Samsung galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) and i am back with this,to me,trully unique and reliable phone sync software.i have used this on SE K750i for a long time, and not one glich or anything whatsoever, and i have used it for nearly 4 years! That shows you how good this is.
FJ and the team behind this are doing an amazing job, really.
