Problem connecting Xperia arc via USB

Beitrag von SnuSmu »

Hi,

I'm trying to connect an Xperia arc phone via USB, and having some trouble:

The MPE wouldn't see it - says it couldn't connect as there is no usb device.

Unfortunately, Xperia Arc doesn't give an option of a "charge only" connect, only data or multimedia transfer. Usb debug is on.

Also, I can't find the adb drivers for this particular model. I installed the PC companion, but that did not solve the problem.

I'd appreciate any help.

Hi SnuSmu,

When you plug in the USB and the message comes up to ask what you want to do, can you hit the back button to get rid of the message & keep the phone charging?

In the MPE settings box, under 'Connection' make sure your phone type is selected as "Phone with Google Android-OS"

Hope this helps.

Hi, i'm a frech newbie on Android, coming from Ios.

I try this app but it doesn't work on my SE Arc.

i have the same problem, the phone is didn't recognized by the PC MPE.

i choose either USB Media mode o Memory Mode on the phone but it doesn't work both.

USB mode is written 'debogged" on MPE client.

Can you help me please.

Hi Ed,

Thank you for your reply. The OS type is selected correctly.
Having trouble in selecting the mode - there is no pop-up message, you have to pre-select either multimedia-transfer or data-transfer/

Thanks for clarifying those points, SnuSmu. One of my colleagues has an Arc, so I will see if he will let me experiment with it. Won't be until next week now, though. Sorry.

I think the problem is caused by missing ADB-Drivers. Maybe they are inluded in SonyEricsson Update Service

SOLVED IT!!!

- Connecting via USB-Cable:
4. Enable USB-Debugging on your cell phone. This option is hidden in Settings -> Application -> Development:
