New Contacts on Phone not syncing to Outlook
New Contacts on Phone not syncing to Outlook
Generally this software works great. However at the moment I have a frustrating issue that I can't find a solution to... I have been right back through the forum for 6 months.
When I create a new contact on my phone it doesn't seem to be sync'd across to Outlook (or to MPE). New contacts on Outlook get across to phone and changes to existing contacts (phone or Outlook) get updated fine. It's just new contacts created on phone that don't seem to get sync'd
Anyone have a similar issue or any useful advice?
Thanks.

Hi,
check settings in your phone:
contacts -> menu -> options -> settings -> new contacts store in ....
or
settings in MPE:
sync settings contacts -> Outlook
and before synchronisation apply in MPE the blue 'down arrow' (load from handy)
while located in the section contacts.
That solved similar problems I had with the calender.

Thanks for the advice.
I don't have exactly those contact options on my phone but I'm pretty sure contacts are getting stored in the right place. Everything else is working fine contacts wise, apart from the persistent problem of contact created on the phone not getting sync'd across to MPE or to Outlook.
In MPE I have contacts set to sync (both ways) with Outlook 2007.
Even if I follow your suggestion with the blue arrow (download entire) those contacts I have created on phone still don't get copied across to MPE!!
It's puzzling!

Hi,
I've got a possible solution from a German thread for the Blade:
! Save your contacts anywhere before !
Do you have got the newest version of the client? 1.0.10
- disable all accounts in the MPE Client (settings in contacts, not in organizer)
(this will readout all accounts)
- in MPE apply the blue arrow to load all contacts
- create a new contact in your smartphone (local)
- than synchronisation again
see what happen.
They describe in the thread that this will solve the problem,
but after changing the settings to sync only the contacts from
a specified account, the problem returns.
It's yet another attempt .. save your data before!

Hi, thanks for that.
Have tried those suggestions but still no success.
Anyone else experiencing the same problem of creating contacts on phone and them not getting sync'd across to MPE / Outlook?
Particularly keen to get an answer to FJ's suggestion about where contacts are stored on phone and whether this has any impact.
Thanks.

You got me worried as I almost always add contacts via Outlook and may not have noticed phone added contacts were not being sync'd.
I've just tried adding a contact to my phone and confirm that MPE flagged up the new contact on sync and that when confirmed it was added to Outlook contacts.
I'd check out those MPE desktop and phone settings if I were you as my test suggests that this is not a generic issue.

This does except basicly all possible wrong settings. I'm sure the contact was created in the wrong account -> check this please again. or did you craete the contact on SIM-Card -> the SIM-Card gets not synced in general with MPE.
If you unselect all contact-accounts in the settings of the client then the filter is disabled and all contacts - even those without contact-account (which should theoretically never happen) are transfered to PC. IMPORTANT: In this case please doisable the sync to Outlook until you have found the problem, otherwise all Google-Accounts gets synced to Outlook.
