Could not connect to phone

Phone: HTC Desire Z, connection over WiFi

Lately it happens that MPE is able to find the phone, start the sync and then after the summary screen has been confirmed it gives the error "Cannot connect to phone". This happens then for every change. The process cannot be stopped: cancel shows the message that the action will be terminated, but it still continues to try to update the phone.

The MPE client is still blue, so it thinks it is connected. The only option I have is to really kill the MPE process on the host. The client needs to be exited as well in that case.

I have no idea why this happens: the phone isn't moved and is within 2 meters of the WiFi AP....

Any ideas, pointers? Can I obtain logging from somewhere and will that help someone?

The phone and also MyPhoneExplorer thinks its connected to the router, but the connection is already dropped. In some cases it depends on the Router/AP itself but mostly it helps to keep the mobile awake (there is also a setting for this in MyPhoneExplorer Client)

Well... that is strange. This happens while synchronising, with the phone (a) being constantly awake and (b) using WiFi for other connections as well. The PC itself is directly (cable) connected to the router.

IMHO it is as if something goes wrong and after that the MPE client is in another state than MPE. That results in the client not (correctly or at all) responding to MPE.
