MPE on computer crashing when attempting connecting to phone
MPE on computer crashing when attempting connecting to phone
Hello,
the info first:
- Model of phone is Alcatel OT 995
- Type of connection: WiFi
- MPE-version (i.e. MPE 1.8.4)
- Windows version: Windows 7 Home Premium with SP 1 (64 bits)
- firmware version: Android 4.0.4
Then the issue:
I've been working with MPE for 2 years now. Last October (I can't remember if this started after the upgrade to V 1.8.4 and after the upgrade to ICS on the phone) the program on the PC would crash every time I'd try connecting to the phone. Same result trying the usb connection and same result trying to connect a different phone (HTC Wildfire) which was also previously working. The contacts and data since the last synchronization are all there but there is no way to connect the computer and the phone.
I tried several time reinstalling the software on both the computer and the phone but I had no joy. I also tried saving the contacts, deleting the devices from MPE 1.8.4, still no results.

Take a look at your firewall and security software. There are some softwares around which do kill processes which try to open a incoming port like MyPhoneExplorer

OK, in this case i need the logfile directly after the crash. You have to open it manually: Start->Run->%appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\Debug.txt-OK

Hello,
I did re-check MyPhonExplorer wiht my firewall (Windows firewall) disabled, antivirus (Avast) disabled and WinPatrol disabled.
Result s still the same: I launch MFE on my laptop, I start it on my android phone and the moment I select from PC the menu item "Connect Device (F1)" the program on the laptop shuts down.
If there is no way out of this, please let me know.
Nevertheless, thanks again for your kind support.

Hi,
I also have this problem, and have had this problem probably since October of last year as well. My logfile ends with "[TX]: AT+CGSN" just like in the groncall's logfile, and only has differences in terms of IP address, etc. I've tried on wifi and USB 2.0 connection, and I've disabled all of my firewalls while troubleshooting the connection.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Are you able to test the issue on another PC ?
Please do also this extended test:
- close MyPhoneExplorer Client on the phone
- close MyPhoneExplorer on PC
- launch MyPhoneExplorer in debugmode (Start-Run-myphoneexplorer debug-OK)
- try to connect throught USB
- post the contents of the file %appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\AndroidDebug.txt
