Waiting for connection

on my phone but it never connects. This will be my last attempt at using MPE then I delete it and find something else.

Are we talking about a cable, via wifi or bluetooth? If you don't say which we can't help you.

There's a FAQ which covers the USB cable. Bluetooth too I believe but I've never tried it this way. I was successful via USB at first but then found that wifi was more convenient.

If you have it on wifi can you 'ping' the phone from your PC? If not you have wireless issues. Tried rebooting both phone and PC?

I have Wifi and when I bring up the MPE Client on my phone it shows: "wifi connected to ATT578"
But it also says "Waiting for connection" - on the phone.

What I think is:
"wifi connected to ATT578" means that MPE client on phone is connected to wifi and the SSID of wifi is ATT578. "Waiting for connection" means that MPE client is waiting for beeing called by MPE on your PC.
Did you start MPE on your PC and did you set "Autodetect" or "WiFi" in settings of MPE on your desktop?

Yep. I looked and tried everything. I've given up.

Just checked o my phone and when I start MPE on the phone it too says 'Waiting for connection' in the status. It will say that until something changes. I hope you're not thinking that things should happen automatically? If so then you haven't read the FAQ properly. Have you tried to synchronise your contacts or calendar? (After setting up MPE on the phone and PC obviously). If so, what happens?

If you still have no success then set the connection to "fixed IP" in MyPhoneExplorer and enter the WiFi IP Address of your phone

I've tried everything. Have dumped MPE...too bad as it was what I wanted but nothing seems to make it work right. I'm done with it. But thanks for trying to help!!!
