You may create new groups via MPE.
Changing existing groups should be done in the phone itself.
Some manufacturers don´t allow to delete all perexisting groups, just don´t use them.

I am working my way thru the Forums & Blogs looking for a manner/method/instruction to add/delete Group names/categories..

They can get messy & crowded after a while of adding groups that may go away after some time when a project ends..

For organizing/changing groups it is best to use these apps on your smartphone:

DW Contacts (free version) or
PixelPhone (when you touch the bar at the bottom, a section "groups" will show up, which will allow you to manipulate groups)
