FJ hat geschrieben:Your idea is basicly interesting. Just for understanding: How would you "use" this feature ? Do you often upload photos from camera to phone ?

How I use this feature would be as follows.

Photos taken with a digital camera and copied to computer full size into a folder (i.e. mypictures).

I identify 'mypictures' as my photo folder in MPE.

I plug in my android phone, MPE checks to see which photos are already on the phone. Any photos not on the phone are then synced to the phone. Before the sync MPE compresses them to a more manageable size.

My wife has an iphone, basically I've set it up (via itunes) so that she arrives home, plugs in her phone, and any new family photos I've placed on the computer are sent to her device and compressed on the way (by itunes). Itunes maintains a compressed images chache on the hard drive but this isn't neccsary and in practice wastes a lot of speace.

Hi FJ,

Is this possible to implement "stable connection" for USB for Android? You should remember this feature from SE (not Android) connections.

This is required for phone identification when using MPE on Linux (via Wine).

Stable connection is not needed for Android cause the connection is based now on TCP/IP, the SE-Models were controlled throught COM-Ports which did not fully work on Linux.

call logs and SMSC issue

FJ hat geschrieben:1) Oh - not android ? then i have no good news for you: The phone itself stores only the last 30 calls

Hi FJ, I know about 30 calls limit, that's why I sync call logs every few days. And in MPE Calls section I can see more calls than in my phone callog - so i suppose the newest info is appended to existing call logs in MPE.
I was doing that sync for months already, but what I'm speaking about is the issue I cannot browse more than several months in the past.
Let's say I'm syncing phone twice a week on a regular basis and want to get full call log at the end of the year, how can we achieve that?

FJ hat geschrieben:2) i cannot reproduce this behavior, its shown on my PC

OK, I'm going to upload screenshot. Let me know if you might need any other info for debugging.

There is a setting for the duration for calls-log. Change it from 2 month to "no limit" in the settings of MPE

Usage of shared connexion

Android is able to manage a wifi network by the access point function. However, Myphoneexplorer can not use this connexion and requires the phone and the PC to use the same external network.
Is it possible to use this connection for synchronisation?

Would it be possible to support Yahoo Calendar and syncing contacts with Yahoo (mail)?

@Argon: In the next version of MPE you will be able to preselect the IP you want to connect so maybe it will work then. Besides this i have no Android 2.2 device to test the Access-Point functionality.

@Gast: There were not many users asking for Yahoo-Sync so its not planned

there is any chance of my phone explorer come to full support the Samsung Galaxy 5 (l5500) soon?

I can access my messages, calendar, files, but the phone list isn't acessible.

It should already work. Are you using the newest client from market (v1.0.6) ?

MPE Android functions, Numeric Keyboard, TASKS

I'm a new Android user (and experience WM user). The MPE is great.

During the CALL initiated from PC it is not possible to change the Volume from PC (bluetooth headset) and the numeric keyboard for sending DTMFs is not reacting.

The Android (HTC Desire Z) is not supporting syncing TASKS, which I miss very much for everyday business activity. Please consider (any) TASKS application to be sync with SUNBIRD Tasks (Calendar but w/o Tasks is working perfectly). I keep also some calendar syncing with Yahoo for team work - found Yahoo web calendar more functional then Google web calendar.

Thank you for working on MPE !

Messaging chat - Both sides of conversation?

First, thanks for a nice piece of software. I've just begun to play with it and so far it's quite nice. Donation worthy indeed. :)

When I open a chat window from the Messaging portion of the app, as I converse with someone, I only have my side of the conversation. The other half comes through on my phone only. (it will be in my MPE log after I hit sync again).
It would be nice if this chat window could show the incoming messages as well and be like a true chat window. Any possibility of that?

For the record I'm on Win 7 32 and using an HTC EVO (Android 2.2) over WiFi.

Thanks,
J.

Thanks! Danke! Merci! Spasibo! Grazci!

I have been looking for an app that does just what this one does. I was considering going back to WinMo even though I love my SE XPERIA 10a

It appears that Sony and Google had conspired with ATT to force me to use data/MB just to sync my phone and Outlook. TAKE THAT you OLIGOPOLIES!

A donation is en route after payday!

well i have a wish in sms part ,i always send a sms for my friends ,so i will be sending around 10 to 15 sms at Once for diffrent nos ,when i get the delivery report on the system ,its like showing a pop-up for each delivery ,instead of this it will be nice if i get 1 pop-up with all the delivery reports for that particular sms send to multiple nos

and aslo a history option where we can check later these details.

replay on this my friend

thank u in advance.

Hey, love the app but i have some minor questions. In the HTC phones (have hero) there are so called groups and when you send to the group it comes up in the same entry in messages in the phone but when you use your app it appears that i have sent a personal made message for everyone and the overview of regular messages and just "one" group messages becomes quite difficult.
Any progress since the "question in 2007"?

Secondly i don't find any possibility to chose a group to send to just different people witch i have to select manually.

Danke

Gruß

I wish the way of getting a portable version was described somewhere. For now I searched through forum and found that it's an option in installer, but normally one is searching in Downloads section for zip file named Portable version.
I will also be happy if the head menu would be doubled by simple HTML for those who have Flas disabled.

upd. I've launched installer now and there was no "portable setup" option! What a trouble! :(
