I've tried a scheduled text sender previously with the same results... do you recommend one to try... ?

Then it seems to be a problem related to your phone i think. Try also Chomb SMS and Handcent SMS

I guess I was missing something earlier, because I installed Handscent and was able to send a > 160 character text message. Then I tried and I can send one manually through the default text client too, but still cannot send a > 160 character multiple SMS thru the MPE computer client. I'm not aware of any other apps that have a computer client that can send text messages thru the phone, but it doesnt appear to be the phone.

I just wanted you to know that my problem is resolved. Today I upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S3 and am able to send multiple SMS messages. So there had to be some issue with the old Galaxy and it's OS. I guess this can be marked as Resolved.
Thanks.
Jeff

@milau: Are you also not able to send small messages (< 160 chars) ? Did you already try to restart the phone ?
