@David: Just downloaded and installed the Java SDK from SE - alot of stuff. I hooked "Connection proxy" so i could see whats going on in background. The connection proxy uses another Interface to the phone via SLIP-Protocol. The transport-layer is not the problem, but there is another Layer above SLIP which is undocumented. I hoped it would be easier, maybe throught a special OBEX-Mode but that is not the case. Since this interface is completly undocumented i don't think makes sense to implement it. I think you have to live with the confirmations.

Hi, FJ! I too wanna express my gratitude for the amazing piece of software you're writing!
I have some questions and suggestions for improvement:

• When trying to send a message a warning sign saying "Memory full" pops up if that's the case. What I don't understand is why the Send button changes to Close when returning to the New message window. It's extremely irritating when you have written a long text message and accidentally click on Close.
  This would be ok if you added a warning sign informing me that I'm about to close this window, where after which I have to confirm closing the window or to abort the action.
• A problem I've started having is that all the messages in the sent box in my phone that are not sent from the computer don't have any time or date. It says: "No indication". Why is this? I'm using my W810i right now while my W580i is in for repair. Can't recall if I had this problem with the W580i too. What can be the cause?
• After synchronizing my messages, some of them are broken in the phone. I don't know why. It can have something to do with me editing the time and date on the unindicated sent messages...?
• Sometimes when recieving a message while I'm writing a message, the New message window is minimized. The same happens everytime when sending a message while writing a new one. When the first message is sent the New message window is minimized. Extremely irritating. Fix?
• And why can't I use other functions in MPE while sending a message? Every week I send a text message to 72 people in one shot and this takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. I'd appreciate the possibility to use MPE's other functions while sending it.
• Are you planning to develop support for MMS messages?

Hi, I am from Turkey

First i want to thank you for this useful freeware.

in Turkey, operators has launched a service that would let customers send SMS messages in Turkish characters without paying extra. But when i write sms in this software, it splits sms for turkish characters: ıöüşğ etc... can you make it compatible with turkish operators? because now its possible to send sms with Turkish character set in normal charge, or ifits not possible to do, please make automatically change the Turkish characters to unicode chars like ı to i, ü to u, ğ to g etc...

And also, when i read a sms from inbox, everyone usually clicks to sms, but when i open it via double click, why there is no reply button? i have to close the sms window and right click sms select reply for replying.

The chat is so useful for me i am everytime using it but in 1.7 version, when i open the chat window, it was automatically select the writing area and i didnt need to click to writing sms area in chat window. but now in 1.7.1 i need to open chat window, and then witeable area must be clicked too.

I am using enter for sending messages via chat. but now if i press enter, it makes a new line and then send message.

hi thanks for this great piece of software. I have just found it and have been experimenting with it.
I have a feature I hope you can implement. I would like to be able to hang up the phone using MPe. (I use MPE to dial). The reason is IM disabled and cannot use my hand (I control the computer using VoiceCommands) and when checking voicemail the phone does not hang up by itself for quite a long time.

Hopefully, this is an easy task.

@menace208: There is already a controlwindow for calls implemented. Please check the settings of MPE: "Stable connection" has to be UNCHECKED and "Disable callmonitor" has to be UNCHECKED. If you still have problems then please post the logfile in a new thread after you made a call (Menu-File-Options-Show Logfile)

FJ thanks for your quick reply. Unfortunately, I have to check "stable connection." Otherwise, I am unable to dial at all. My phone is a T610. I am connecting to the phone using the XP Bluetooth stack.

However, I have found a workaround by writing a script that calls up the phone keypad and pressing the "L" when i want to hang up.

I may start a new thread to find out why I need to have "stable connection."to be able to make a call. Will include the log file. If I do start that thread.

2) Please read the FAQ
3) Sometimes a restart of the phone is needed so that the phone can reassign the sms-brackets
4) I tried it now but i was not able to reproduce it. Does the window really minimze or does it just loose the focus ?
5) While sending messages the communication to the phone is blocked, in the mainwindow are many features which directly access the phone and cause of this the whole window gets disabled
6) If it would be possible then i already had implemented MMS-Support but there is no interface to access the MMS on the phone

received SMS are exported with the time received. Can we export sent/saved sms with the time sent? This will be really great for archiving the SMSes.

I've found that this occurs when writing a text message with the main window in the background. While writing a new message with a previous message still sending, it's fine. But when the previous message is sent, the Send window disappears and the "Write a new SMS" window minimizes. When writing the new SMS I often have the pop-up window up with the message I'm answering. Did you have that in your testing?

Don't know if this has been wished before as I do not want to read all the 50+ pages of the wishlist.

I'm running MPE v1.7.2 with my SE C902

I've noticed that MPE is only able to show Cell Phone, Home Phone etc. in the main window. The C902 phone has more options, like Work Cell and Private Cell.

If I save a contacts number under Private Cell, MPE is not showing the number in the main screen. If I right-click and click edit, I can see all numbers though.

It's nice to have a chat window like an instant messenger, but sending smiles would be a bit easier if there are little smiles like the "new message" window, could this be implemented?

When sending messages with the "new message" window, there's an option to save the messages in "sent items", could this also be added for the chat window?, because it always saves every sent message and I have to manually erase them.

This is not a feature request, just a comment, when I accidentally open MPE with the phone unplugged, it says cannot stablish connection, I close MPE, but instantly reopens, it's an unlimited loop, i have no other choice to terminate it with the task manager. I've been using MPE since version 1.6.6 and updating it.

No, really. It's a wish so it's the right thread.

Even if I right-click, I can't view "Work Cell" and "Private Cell". The columns only feature one cell phone.

In later models of SE, you can have more than one cell.

Hello FJ,

First of all MPE is a wonderful software and beats every other commercial software out there. I use it mostly for sending sms and managing my contacts and various events.

In the new message dialog box, In the "Recipient" text box i type in the name of the recipient and a tooltip appears , which shows only one number of that contact. If i want to send to multiple users than I just click on the small "book" icon to look out in the address book and add manually.

But a tooltip of all the numbers of that contact (the one whose initial alphabets are entered) would be a very nice addition. what do you say.?
