Some background:

Is this possible to implement "stable connection" for USB for Android? You should remember this feature from SE (not Android) connections.
This is required for phone identification when using MPE on Linux (via Wine).
FJ hat geschrieben:Stable connection is not needed for Android cause the connection is based now on TCP/IP, the SE-Models were controlled throught COM-Ports which did not fully work on Linux.
I use Wine 1.2 and MyPhoneExplorer 1.8.0. I checked "Android" in Settings and clicked "Connect" (F1) and I got "Connecting..." popup. On half of progress I saw "Identification..." and another popup appeared: "Connection to phone could not be established", "Phone could not be identified".
My phone is Samsung I9000 (Galaxy) and I'm sure it's configured correctly (MPE, USB debugging) as it works fine with MyPhoneExplorer on Windows XP.
Any tip/help, please?

OK, I discovered something new. If I click F1/Connect once more it seems to connect fine. In bottom status bar I can see "Phone connected: R-And via COM1".
However xxx "Synchronize" does not work correctly. I see "Please wait...", "Synchronizing phonebook..." and right after that popup with "Obex protocol could not be initialized. OBEX Error: ERROR".
xxx "Synchronize" again results in the same error.
Is that TCP/IP over USB? Is this trackable with Wireshark? Could I debug problem by comparing dumps between Linux and Windows?
edit:
For some reason MPE does not seem to notice Android's reponse for broadcast.

Any help/tip? Is this answer incorrect or MPE didn't receive it at all?

Please install the newest beta of the client on phone:
www.fjsoft.at/mpeclient.apk
And its much more useful to post the logfile of MPE (which shows also all transfered data and logging informations)

Sorry for late reply. I've tried 1.0.7 beta 14 and MPE still can not find my Android's IP.

Maybe it has to do with the Wine-Environment that the Broadcasts do not work. You can also use the newest beta of the Desktop-Software which supports connecting to a predefined IP-Address.
