Connect to Android Wifi via LAN

Hi.

My HTC Desire is connected via Wifi, and as long as my computer is connected to the same Wifi network it works fine.
However, my computer usually connects via Ethernet to exactly the same network as the Wifi, but whenever the ethernet connection is plugged in I lose connection with my phone.

Why is it not possible to reach the phone via ethernet? I assume that the client on the phone and the software on my computer communicates via IP, so LAN or Wifi should not make a difference.

Is there a router involved? NAT used?

Which Version of "MyPhoneExplorer Client" is installed? Please post the logfile after the connection was lost.

No router, no nat.
The connection is not lost, its never even established.

I will try to get a logfile and post it later.

Found this thread as I had the same problem but it's now fixed. The main point I hadn't realised was that you had to start the mpe client manually on the phone before you can connect. Seems a little obvious when you think about it ..... doh!

Also check the 'Connection' in the MPE settings is set to wifi.

HTH.
