The Arc is supported, you can also restore a backup from K800i to Arc. Notes and Tasks are in general not supported for Android phones

Thanks for the update, so i am right to say we can backup and import back into the Arc all the contacts, messages and all?

Notes and Task would not be restored back then will that go somewhere during the restore process?

I have managed to connect to the Xperia Arc via bluetooth only have a problem that the myphoneexplorer client shuts down after maybe 20 minutes and you have to start it again manually on the phone.

(Answer to another question above: I transfered contacts and calendar from my c901 via the sony ericsson web sync service.)

The client does close after 15 minutes in idle. this is needed cause the client raises more power consumtion (it holds WiFi active and some other things). If you are connected with MyPhoneExplorer it will not close

How did you manage to do that?
I can connect my SE ARC via bluetooth to my PC's hardware, so the device appears in an explorer on the pc.
I can also successfully connect the MyPhoneExplorer if I am using Wifi or USB.
If I try to connect the MyPhoneExplorer via bluetooth, it cannot find the ARC although I assure that the ARC is searchable while trying to connect.
Where is my faulty setting? I'm running the latest version of the ARC and the MPE.
Thanks in advance for any clou.

- delete your Arc in the bluetooth environment
- launch MyPhoneExplorer Client
- enable Bluetooth visibility and pair again your phone with PC
- set the newly assigned COM-Port in myPhoneExplorer for your phone

For future usage its not needed to make a new pairing, normally it works just by connecting MyPhoneExplorer

I too have an Xperia Arc, and even though I AM indeed CONSTANTLY connected successfully via Bluetooth (with MyPhoneExplorer running on my PC at all times), I still lose connection to the phone every 15 mins or so, as the Android client is constantly closing down.

I always have my phone charging near my PC at home, so not having enough power is never an issue anyway, and I really want the Android client to remain in CONSTANT connection with my PC so I can monitor messages as they come in, at all times, and answer them quickly, just like I used to be able to do with my old Aino phone (which was also constantly left on the power charger for immediate use).

At the moment I am having to restart the Android client on the Arc every 15mins or so... and it is so annoying and proving not very practical.

Is there a setting to switch this timeout facility (15mins quoted above) off and on? Can this functionality can be built-in? Please?

If your phone is connected to MyPhoneExplorer then there is no timeout

Hi FJ, and thanks for the reply. But no that is not the case... I leave the software running on my PC constantly... and the phone is constantly on charge and the bluetooth connection permanently open and connected... yet the android client still closes down after 15 minutes unless I have sent or received a message in that time.

If no messages are being sent or received and I do not refresh the PC inbox within that 15 minute period (even though everything is connected and still running), the android client closes down every time and the icon disappears from my notifications bar on my Xperia Arc. I then have to relaunch the android client once more... and it lasts for another 15 minutes and then closes again.

Please take a look at the statusbar of MyPhoneExplorer, maybe the connection gets lost after some moments and so the client thinks you have disconnected, can you verify ?

No the connection between PC and bluetooth or wifi is still very much there... but the android client still closes down after 15 minutes of not receiving anything from the phone by way of a refresh or sending a message to someone etc.
In contrast, using the USB conection, I am finding the Android client always stays open and ready to use... so I am doing things that way for the moment... but not as convenient as a wifi/bluetooth solution as it measn I still lose one of my USB ports on the PC to dedicate it purely to the phone.

Please post the logfile after the connection was lost
