Conversations not updated with Gingerbread

I just installed Android Revolution Gingerbread and since then when I receive an SMS message it does not update automatically the Conversations in the PC.

If I am trying to have an SMS Chat I have to continuosly update/download the messages from the phone to the PC.

Are you using Handsent or similar sms replacements on phone ? Is your phone working in CDMA-band or GSM ?

I am using GO SMS PRO, but it used to wrk before I updated Android Revolution, and the phone is GSM...

Same problem here, using stock gingerbread and go sms pro. It's been working fine on gingerbread, just suddenly changed recently, I didn't notice when. Maybe after a go sms update ?

Go SMS disables the system-notification for new sms and so also MyPhoneExplorer gets not notified. You can enable the system sms notification in the settings of Go SMS

But that means we get double notifications for every message... It's always worked in the past, even with notifications disabled... I've had GoSMS with notifications disabled for months now, MyPhoneExplorer only stopped working a couple of weeks ago.

I can confirm that this is produced by Go SMS as I use it as well and don't get the popup via MPE. Any way to integrate MPE and Go SMS without having to enable the system notifications?

@all: I have found a workaround to go around the problems with Handcent and GoSMS, but i'm not sure if it does work on all phones so please test: www.fjsoft.at/mpeclient.apk and give me feedback

I decided to uninstall GoSMS as it made my phone run slow (as all the other Go apps), so I can't test it.

Sorry FJ! I check from time to time but forgot to come back in the past couple of weeks as I haven't been texting much, so had forgotten a bit about this issue.
I just installed it. Now I wait for an SMS to come in when I'm synch'd to the PC (it's the middle of the night so can't really ask someone to text me right now).

Just one xxx tiny bug though, the icon on the phone (in the bar at the top) doesn't go blue when connected, just stays grey.
I'll let you know if notification is fixed as soon as I get a chance to test it.

I'm extremely grateful for this fix, even if it doesn't work Smile

Not necessarily. You don't need any fix also.
Look, some time ago there was an GO Sms Pro update. They added function that disables all sms notifications (including one that MyPhoneExplorer uses). This option is located in Go SMS in Settings->Receive Settings. If you deselect that function notifications will be working again. And what with double notifications? Just go to stock sms application settings and turn its notifications off Wink
