Contact Field Mapping Android, MyPhoneExplorer, Thunderbird

I just recently came across MyPhoneExplorer - a great piece of software! During my first trial I hit some bugs (?) in the mapping of contact fields between Android, MyPhoneExplorer and Thunderbird:
* Job Titel: Synced between Android and Thundbird, but not synced (displayed?) in MPE
* Pager: Synced between Android and MPE, but not synced to Thunderbird

Besides getting this bugs fixed I think really useful enhancements would be:
* Use the fields provided by the "MoreFunctionsForAddressBook" Add-on http://nic-nac-project.de/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html to sync additional fields like "3. E-Mail"
* Provide the current field mapping as a reference (sticky note in the forum?)
* Provide a "Prefix" like in the Google Contacts to be used for "Mr.", "Miss", etc.

Environment:
* MyPhoneExplorer V1.8.2
* Thunderbird V7.0.1
* HTC Desire Z, Android 2.3.3

Some related forum entries I came across while I was doing my research (provided as a reference):

Hi webdb22!

fully agree with your comments. I'd love to edit the max number of fields of the google contact structure in the MyPhoneExplorer window.

I think that now all the data from google is downloaded (you can see it when rolling on any contact -btw: thanks for adding this feature!!!), but some of the info (as extra phone fields) is not possible to manage in the console...

Could this be considered for next versions?

Tnx in advance

Each non-mobile platform keeps data in its own format. Going from Outlook to Google loses some data (and in fact corrupts it IIRC when you try to bring it back into Outlook.)

The issue is the level of complexity that each database chooses. As a PIM, Outlook has the most available fields, whereas Android (and therefore Google) have much less information. On WinMo phones, Mobile Outlook solves this (a big plus if you require all the fields.) Even if you don't require the fields, you don't want your phone or Google overwriting your carefully built-up and edited contact list.

What is needed is a new paradigm for how we view and use contacts based on our transition to a handheld database terminal (read: "SMARTPHONE") , a project I have had in mind for some time. I just don't know how to write code or it would have been done already.

* Job Titel: Synced between Android and Thundbird, but not synced (displayed?) in MPE

Its just not displayed in MPE but its handled correctly

* Pager: Synced between Android and MPE, but not synced to Thunderbird

Cause of compatibility reasons to older versions this is handled as "Other Telephone" in MyPhoneExplorer and the phone

* Use the fields provided by the "MoreFunctionsForAddressBook" Add-on http://nic-nac-project.de/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html to sync additional fields like "3. E-Mail"

So for a full sync the user has to install additional Addons in Thunderbird ? And i'm sure for the next field f.e. Messenger exists another Thunderbird-Addon which could hold the data right ? No, MyPhoneExplorer will support the native fields as best as possible, this is all i want to do

* Provide a "Prefix" like in the Google Contacts to be used for "Mr.", "Miss", etc.

This field does not exist in Thundebrird

FJ, thanks for your reply!

* "Job Title": Would be great if it is displayed in MPE.
* "Pager": Backward compatibility should be dropped in favor of doing the more logical sync from the "Pager" field to the "Pager" field.
* "MoreFunctionsForAddressBook": I would not force the user to install additional Addons, but it would be nice if MPE could sync to matching fields if provided by an Addon.
* "Prefix" et al.: MPE should support all native fields of Android like "Prefix", the sync to Thunderbird should be optional, depending on the availability of a matching field.

I have "Corporate Sync" on my Motorola phone. Everything syncs except the photos associated with a contact. Will this program allow me to sync just the photos with a particular contact?
