I'm trying to sync my Samsung galaxi S2 via USB - No sync protocol is highlighted (IrMC).
A message keeps poping "connection to phone could not be established, no device attached to USB.

Do you have USB debugging enabled?

Yes, USB is enabled.

It runs on Pentium 4 machine with Windows XP Professional SP 3
