Outlook Contact Pictures
Outlook Contact Pictures
Hi and thank you for the best sync software.
I have Samsung Galaxy Note and am also using Outlook 2010. I have over 3000 contacts.
One problem is the software updated the Contact pictures at the initial sync but not doing it anymore. Can we place an opt for choosing pictures?
And I also have a question, is it possible to assign definitions for the numbers?
ie:
outlook - phone
mobile no. - mobile no.
Business no. - Business no.
HOME 2 no. - MOBILE 2 no.
Sincerely,

You can choose and edit the contact pictures also in the contact-dialog of MyPhoneExplorer

I see that if you choose a specific contact in MyPhoneExplorer, click on Edit Entry, there is a Change Image icon where you can click and select an image to add.
As a test, I chose a contact, to which a photo is attached to its Outlook entry, but MyPhoneExplorer displays a blank box, to which an image can be added.
Why isn't MyPhoneExplorer simply taking the image already attached to that Contact in Outlook as it does with that contact's other fields?
EDIT: I discovered that MyPhoneExplorer had a path field to those Contact pictures incorrect. I editted the path, and voila. Sorry, my oversight.

Wow, I just noticed your message and I was having trouble with Companion Link (on the phone the app is called DejaOffice) copying the pictures over for the first time in months.
So I decided to try MyPhoneExplorer this evening. I noticed the date and time you posted your question and am very happy that it's only a few days ago. Maybe you can advise me further so I don't run into the same issues.
This will be my 3rd sync app because of wanting to sync with Outlook on PC.
I am floored by all the options this app has.
If it works out, I'm am definitely going to make a donation!
I just wanted to know what 'field' you played with to get the pictures?
Right now, I have not even done a full sync.
I wanted to make sure I have all the settings correct before trying. I also took the time to back up my Outlook database, because if I lost that I would really be screwed.
I love that it backs up all the apps and stuff as well!
I can't wait to really give it a try!
Thanks!
Rob

Hi Rob -- for me:
File/Settings/Multi-sync
I chose to check Sync Phonebook (phone) and Sync Photos
File/Settings/Advanced 2
Change Folder For Photo-Sync to the path where you store your contacts' photos.

I did set the photos to sync but did not set the folder to the exact same location of the contact photos, but it worked.
I'm good now.
I have two remaining issues:
UPDATE!!!! The beta version that I was told to apply, fixed the +1 issue perfectly! Thank you!
1) I forgot if I posted the question or not, but I did read something about the issue.
For area codes that have just 212 (new york city) I am getting the +1 added to the contacts on my phone. When I try to change manually, it reverts on the next sync.
I tried the fixes that were mentioned but it didn't work.
It's so funny, because it's only the phone numbers that have a 212 area code that have the issue. No other phone numbers have the problem.
2) I know people are requesting this feature, but I would like to know how to automatically do a sync daily or some other time period.
I read that someone figured out how to do it using his GPS, but I'm not sure I would know how to do that. I believe he used the programming language or something like that.
I would just like the app on the phone to have a setting that would start the sync daily or some other time setting period.
Or maybe when records are added or changed as a trigger.
3) Why do I have to be at the computer to do the sync. Right now, I have to be at my computer to enter the password. I thought the password is stored on the computer?
Ok, that's about it.
I'm sorry to have put different questions into a post about contact photos.
I am loving this software!
Today, I kept my promise and made a donation!

@Mark: The settings you posted have nothing to do with the contact pictures. This topic was discussed very often already, please use the forum search.
@rlanza: MyPhoneExplorer is not designed to run as background process. This is also the reason why i will not make a interval based sync
