This seems to be the best calender synchronizing program for Android. I am very dependent on Outlook and I really miss the possibilty for categories on my Android phone. (I had them again with Touch Down, but am no longer syncing with a server, so I can't use Touch Down and want to use My Phone Explorer.)
I don't think categories are available in the standard Android diary which most apps run off of, so unless there was a specific client application, this can't be done.
However, multiple diaries are possible on Android, and can be displayed simultaneously in the same app, so it might be an idea for MPE to split entries up according to category and update the appropriate diary, thereby having a separate Android diary for each category.
