Problem with Listings and USSD Codes

I store a number of commands in my contacts. For instance I have a contact called "Divert Always To Cliff":-

**21*+447814123456#

which quickly diverts all my voice calls to my colleague Cliff.

I also have a separate entry with Cliff's details called "Cliff Somename":-

+447814123456

This was never a problem on my HTC Desire but it does cause a problem on my Galaxy S3. In the messaging app it lists the recipient as "Divert Always To Cliff" not, as it ought to "Cliff Somename":-

However Handcent, the SMS app I use gets it right:-

The Galaxy also gets it right in the call log:-

However MPE gets it wrong in both logs:-

I'm aware that this must at the root be an issue of the phone. However is it possible for MPE to get it right like Handcent?

You could enable a very old tweak in MPE, it was made for pre-Android-Phones but maybe it helps you:
- open the file %appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\general.ini with notepad
- add a new line below [Main]: ExactNumberCompare=1
- save the file and restart MyPhoneExplorer

That's done the trick, thanks. Are there any downsides to the fix?

ExactNumberCompare has not so good performance but you will not notice this i think. In some countries it may cause problems when MPE is not able to cut off the countrycode correctly. If MPE is not able to resolve contact names you should disable this tweak

OK that's good. I don't notice any problem and it's working fine. However in the scheme of things perhaps this could be fixed properly at some point?

There is nothing to fix in this case. For 99% of the users its better that MPE compares only the last 8 digits of the number
