Re-sort folder structure for Photos - deleted my photos

Dear friends,

I have been using Photo Sync feature of MyPhoneExplorer for quite long time.
I specified a folder on my D Drive and called it "Android Photo Sync Folder"
MyPhoneExplorer was syncing and sorting photos in date-dependent subfolders such as "August 2011".

Yesterday I decided that it is better to use folder structure as yyyy-mm instead of mmmm yyyy.

I selected appropriate folder date format first.
Then I pressed the button "Re-sort folder structure".
MyPhoneExplorer got stuck for sometime and I noticed that folder structure is being changed.

Now, the process has ended and my folder structure has changed to yyyy-mm.
However, there are two issues:
1. Two folders are lost: September 2011 and October 2011.
2. All the photos that were stored in the upper folder ("Android Photo Sync Folder") are also deleted.

Is it normal behaviour? Is there a way to restore those photos?

Nothing should be lost, MyPhoneExplorer did just move the photos inside the date based folders.

Probably there were no photos in this timerange. Please also note that MyPhoneExplorer does reorder the photos based on theír EXIF-Date. If you used a picture software to edit the pictures and this software did delete/overwrite the EXIF Date tags than its possible that they were moved into the wrong folder.
