Could Not Find Photo Folders

I recently re-installed the stock ROM on my Nexus S, and reformatted the SD card. Since then, I am getting the error message "Could Not Find Photo Folders on the Phone".

I have read other posts in this forum, and tried those solutions:
1. Windows is not mounting the SD Card as a drive
2. The Problem occurs when connecting by USB or Bluetooth.

The File Browser seems to show the Photo locations:
\Memory card\DCIM

However, it does NOT show the subfolders:
\Memory card\DCIM\100ANDRO
\Memory card\DCIM\Camera
\Memory card\DCIM\MISC

Using ES File Explorer, the permissions for \Memory card\ and its' subdirectories are:
Readable Yes
Writable Yes
Hidden No

Oddly, if I look at \storage\sdcard0\Memory card\ and subdirectories, the permissions are reported as:

Permissions --- rwx r-x

this is (user, group, other). Trying to change the permissions with ES File Explorer (rooted) fails. (I also rebooted into TeamWin recovery, ran the "Fix Permissions" program, and rebooted. The permissions were unchanged.

I can take a picture using Camera, and it shows up in Gallery.

I am using My Phone Explorer 1.8.4, on Windows 7, and my phone is a Samsung Nexus S running 4.1.2 on Cincinnati Bell.

Sorry about the length of the post - I wanted to be thorough.

I tried mounting the drive under windows.

The "DCIM" folder and subdirectories showed up as "Read Only". I changed it under windows, unmounted the drive, and tried again. I still get the error message.

Solved

I appear to have solved this problem.

In My Phone Explorer, I right-clicked on the "DCIM" folder.
I selected "Refresh All Folders".
After the refresh completed, the subdirectories showed up in File Browser, and the photo sync succeeded. I suspect that this, plus the prior steps, made the difference.

If you have the same problem, I recommend:

Ensure that Windows is not mounting the SD card. If so, Windows will have exclusive access to the SD card, and sync will fail. If the card is not mounted, mount it.

In Windows Explorer, select the parent of the photos folder (\Memory card\DCIM on my phone). Right click, select "Properties" and make sure that "Read Only" is NOT selected. If it is, unselect it.

Unmount (Eject) the phone in Windows. Turn off USB file sharing in Android.

In the My Phone Explorer interface, go to the Files Panel. Select the parent of the Photos folder (\Memory card\DCIM on my phone). Right Click and Select "Refresh All Folders". This can take a minute or two.

When it completes, start a Multi-sync, or select the Photo Sync Icon.

Does the photo-sync work now also without resfreshing all folders ? Which Android Version was installed on your phone before you re-installed your ROM ?

Check if you can browse the files through the regular filebrowser of MyPhoneExplorer and tell me where your photos are located on the SD card
