Hello,

I've an "old" Jiayu S3Adv and it works really fine with MPE.
I bought recently a new phone, a ZTE Nubia Z17.
I can't connect it with the USB cable (or by Wifi).

The phone is reconized by adb devices :
Code:
adb devices
List of devices attached
3c7b7615        device

I can connect it via bluetooth.
I can't connect it via USB (USB is in debugging mode).
I can't connect it via Wifi (the pin I type is not recognized)
ZTE Nubia Z17
Android 7.1.1
USB type C

When you open MyPhoneExplorer one the phone, I actually have :
Wifi detected with [my PC]
Bluetooth active
USB wire is not detected.

Is it because that phone uses the USB type C connection ?

With Bluetooth connection, I can see some files in the file window of MPE under windows, or all the applications.
But I can't the user files like Download, DCIM, etc.

Under windows, the drivers are Ok. But...

Microsoft indicates USB type C is not supported by Windows under Windows 10... May be this is the problem.

My computer, X1 Carbon 20BF seems does not support thunderbolt connection. I mean connect a device like that phone (USB3.1, USB-C connector) on an USB 3.0 connector;
Is that real ?

Thanks

Best regards

USB type-C is merely the connector specification. You could have a type-C connector running USB 2.0 if you (the manufacturer that is) wanted. You have to make sure you have the correct USB drivers for your phone, as per any other phone connected via USB.

For wifi, no reason why it will not work. But take the PIN off of MPE for testing. That is just another hindrance to getting it to work. Once it works, then put the PIN back if you really need to.

Hello,

I understand USB-C is a connector specification. If I have a good understanding of what I've read, generally it is used with the specification USB 3.1 (and thunderbolt), not 3.0.
USB3.1 is not supported by microsoft under windows 10 (software and by my computer too, hardware).

Each time I try to install the driver, I always have an error code 10.
I can't bypass it.

I forgot, it works well by Bluetooth. But for now, I can't root my phone (the last ZTE Nubia Z17) and install another ROM to have a full functional "international version" Wink

USB 3.1 and USB-C connectors are both supported by W10 (see ... https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/usbcoreblog/2015/05/11/new-in-windows-10-usb-dual-role-type-c-superspeedplus-and-much-more/ ... for one example, written 2 years ago). Most peripheral cards I have seen that add type-c connectors to a PC only support USB 3.0, less support 3.1.

But that's by-the-by. Under wifi, you need to remember the PIN number you gave it, that's not a fault of MPE. Last resort here is to uninstall MPE on phone and PC and then start the installation from scratch. Though there is a thread somewhere about retrieving PIN numbers.

BT? If it works then what is the problem?

USB? Seems you need the correct drivers. Maybe a F/W upgrade so your PC recognises type-C/usb3 correctly?

Lots to check .....
