Samsung Contact Groups and Thunderbird

Apologies if I've missed this elsewhere on the forums or web. I've just bought a Galaxy S4 Mini and fortunately stumbled upon MyPhoneExplorer to be able to synchronise with Thunderbird.

I have a CSV file all ready to import in to Thunderbird's address book and I have an idea for family / friends / business category for each contact.

I see the Samsung mobile address book has this grouping functionality, and so does MPE.

But I cannot see any place in Thunderbird's address book where MPE synchronises this grouping with the Samsung.

How do I identify/stipulate in the Thunderbird address book which Group the contact will be in once synchronised with the Samsung phone please?

Further findings

Looks like MPE adds a field to Thunderbird address book called MyPhoneExplorerUUID.

This cross-references to MPE's Phonebook.dat file where the CATEGORIES are stored.

So it looks like I'll never be able to use the Thunderbird address book as a single source of authority.

Adding a contact to Thunderbird will need a subsequent modification in MPE or on the phone to assign the Group. Shame!

Can anyone confirm please???

Thunderbird has no Groups-Functionality and also no Categories Field. Cause of this MyPhoneExplorer will not sync this tag with thunderbird, but it works with other apps like Outlook, Lotus Notes and Tobit David.
