Hello,

I am syncing my Sony Xperia S 4.1.2 Android with MPE1.8.5 and with Outlook 2010, without any other stuf like a charm. No error Just working fine. Great

I am assigning my outlook's Calendar items different colors (1 cat per record) and syncing them. Here let's strange start ...

Sync work like a charm and business calendar show entries in different colors but I do not always understand color logic being used :
A yellow painted item in Outlook becomes blue in B.C.,
a blue one becomes red...

I don't know where the problem might be, from android, from mpe or from Business Calendar UI...

Any hints to have it done?

Please test the current beta: http://www.fjsoft.at/files/MyPhoneExplo ... Update.exe
If i remember right its a bug which is fixed inbetween. Please note that the fix will affect only new appointments so probably you have to delete the appointments on the phone and then sync "Force Outlook -> phone"

Hello,

I just upgraded to 1.8.5 official and the problem of syncing Outlook (2013 now, but was at 2010 before) color of calendar items is still present.

I suspect the problem to be more in MPE side (not the android side I mean) because even you edit and change a color of a calendar item, in GUI, it comes back to default calendar color even if you chose a color from the colormap pop-up.

Thanks for the good job anyway !

What I do not understand ....

I do not want giving all my life to Google so contacts, calendar and .... are mines. So I refuse Cloud syncing, whatever MS, Google, FB, dropbox it might be. I have nothing against these compagny, just refusing to publish my life. Same for my smartphone, data is disabled, all location/Google+/FB.... to be uninstalled or turnedoff. It's why I use MPE with local USB cable to sync.

A smartphone, yes, as a personal assistant, not for gaming and ads and tracked digitally at each sec of my life.

Having that is mind, (and I am sure lot of people think like me) ...

Following Google's implementation, for coloring, you need to use different calendars. I will not and don't want neither having a calendar per category for having right color. A Colleague of nime uses 9 calendars for him, 9 for his wife, 9 for his girl andso sync 27 Cals .... and does invinte wife and girl to resto using meeting requests, cals sync'ed to eachone's iPhone/itab/iMac/...

I would like to understand failing logic in cat color sync issue but I can't figure out what :

Let's create an appointment in Outlook. Assign category RED for sample; using RED color. Using MPE, let's sync. In Android, it is coloured as let's say BLACK. This is possible for different reasons dont care.

I create a new appointment Assign category BLUE for sample; using BLUE color. Using MPE, let's sync. In Android, it is coloured as let's say GREEN. This is possible for different reasons, dont care.

Now, I edit App #1, changing cat RED by BLUE from Outlook. After sync, I expect in android, App#1 and #2 to be GREEN. But it isn't.

I am managing calendar from Outlook. From Android, I can just create a event and edit it later from Outlook after sync. I dont wish editing/changing color from Android but just Outlook changes to be replicated down to phone. Renaming App #1 as #1test and resync does not change neither color in android ?!?

I would expect after editing App#1 from cat RED to BLUE and syncing, that APP#1 in Android to be GREEN as App#2.
Same if editing App#2 from cat BLUE to RED and syncing, that App#2 to be BLACK.

When creating the new app in MPE, where is the color coming from and what explain that at first app, it's BLACK and GREEN for app#2 ?

I can understand that colormap RED in Windows can be different in Android and RED in Android cannot be the same Windows one, so that's not yet a problem but if RED -> BLACK and BLUE -> GREEN and keep coherent, I can adapt. Is this feasible with MPE ?

Outlook does support multiple category per items, like app or tasks. Using just first one is correct as does Outlook when in calendar monthly view.

super thanks for your good work and hope you can help ...

Cheers from Belgium

In Outlook its not possible to set the color of a appointment. You could set only the category color - which would affect many other appointments too. Because of this its not possible to sync the colors from phone to Outlook and because of this its also not possible to detect a appointment change if only the category was changed.
