Contact Mismatch for Company Entries from Lotus Notes

Hi,

- Model of your phone - T-Mobile MyTouch 4G (i.e. HTC Glacier)
- Type of connection - WiFi, USB, Bluetooth
- MPE-version - 1.8.6 and 1.8.6 beta debug
- Windows version - Windows XP-SP3
- firmware version - can't determine
- Android version - 2.3.4
- phone's software number - 2.32.531.1 (not sure if this is firmware or something else)

I upgraded from MPE 1.8.5 to 1.8.6. I have always been doing bidirectional sync with Lotus Notes (LN) and this phone prior to upgrading. I recently had to correct some Company contact entries (i.e. not People contact entries) in my LN Name and Address Book (NAB, aka Contacts). The correction involved making certain that the Company Name field was properly filled out (this doesn't imply that I did more than look at the Company Name field to verify the content) and that the Contact Name field was blank (I might have had to clear this field in some cases). Note that for Company contacts this is pretty normal

Now when I attempt to sync using MPE it is unable to properly match up the entries. It seems always to be matching Company contact entries with other Company contact entries that have no similar content between them.

I thought applying the beta might resolve this as mentioned for a similar issue with contacts generally in this posting and the referenced posting therein => http://www.fjsoft.at/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22937

No joy. It did not help.

When I examine the Contacts maintained in MPE on the PC, for the Company entries the Name field is filled in but not the Last Name or First Name field. I'm not sure what MPE's matching protocol is or of what data it makes use. If I knew more I might be able to conjecture what is going wrong and either resolve or help to resolve.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

DJ

MyPhoneExplorer does store the contact ID of Lotus in the contact of the phone (or better in the database of MPE). So once the contact gets linked it should be no problem in future. But it can happen that the links are lost - in this case MPE does link them based on their name. If the name in Lotus is blank then MPE uses the "Full name" field of Lotus which is probably filled with the company name in your case. How many contacts are affected of this problem ? If they are not too much then i would delete those contacts from the phone and then do a sync "Force Lotus -> Phone"
