I`m a loyal MPE user since I moved from Windows Mobile to Android.
I usually sync my LG-G4 with two computers using OUTLOOK (2010 and 2013) but recently iI began receiving a message "No contacts on phone, Transfer contacts from program to phone?
Fact is I've 4000+ contacts already on the phone, and MPE keeps replicating them over and over........ and then the second computer says the same and .... so. about to 20.000 contacts......
crazy.

Any help?
Regards.

Hi Looking Glass! Maybe you should stop agreeing to transfer contacts from programm to phone?
I hope some support member can help you with this strange issue that you seem to have!

Yes, but EVEN if I say NO, the trasnsfer begins... If I interrupt it, then the whole thing becomes a mess. Full wipe and start over a fresh sync......
No way until I solve this issue.
Thanks for replying.

thanks icke1954, this is what I've done a few times.
However it keeps going back to the same thing from time to time. Looks like MPE does not "download" correctly the asociated data from the phone, thus saying that no data is found on the phone, and asking for a transfer or, even worst, initiating the transfer itself (it's configured to ask for ANY change confirmation)
I'm not familiar with how the program is designed in order to detect data changes, but it seems to me that it creates somehow an intermediate data file between what I've in Outlook and what is on the phone, and this file or its related status, fail.
I've even deleted any associated Phone and reconnected everything from a full fresh start (both sides, MPE reinstalled in PC and Phone) and after a few syncs it returns to the problem.
It begans only when I changed to an LG G4 running 5.1 Lollipop, but can't garantie this is the reason.
Thanks for your help.
Regards.

I also run 5.1.1 (not an LG though) and have no problems. Have you ensured you've setup the phone side correctly? In MPE settings and 'contact account to sync' etc?

"almost" sure.
I've been using MPE for years, and haven't found anything like this before.
Furthermore, it has began simply not updating contacts introduced in the phone directly ¿? only changes done in PC are synced. And the NEW contact is in the phone account (not in gmail, not in whatsapp, not in Skype....)
Again, looks like MPE does not recognize correctly the contacts file in the phone.

regarding the contacts account, i've received a Warning message when trying to select which contacts accounts to sync that "the phone does NOT have a local contacts account"-
What does it mean? My contacts are in the phone, (as they have been for decades now) so they are in the phone account is'nt?

When I go to the option in the message to install a local account, it takes me to Google Play asking for a different program to be installed..... something that didn't happen before. It does not make sense, my phone has a perfectly functional Contacts App installed. so what?

really upset.

So, in your contact app you can normally choose which 'account' to display contacts from. What does that say? And in MPE settings on the phone, which 'contact account to sync' is chosen? And what options does it give?

SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY.
Yes to all your questions, I usually can choose wich account to sync in MPE and also which contacts to show in the contacts phone App options.
Problem WAS that the Phone account, for unknown reasons, rendered "out of reach" for MPE.
After many, (And I mean really many) attempts to fix the issue, I ended up making a Backup of my data and re-installing a new ROM from start (after a full wipe of the data, cache, dalvik, etc).
So finally, whatever the way it happened, the "phone account" was again "visible" to MPE (Not ONLY was shown, but the contacts were readable by MPE) and everything went back to normal.
It has been a tricky issue, since the data was there, but MPE seemed unable to read it.
Regards.
